Opportunities For Members

The GMIC is working with the Department of Energy to develop R&D projects and to allocate $5 million in budgeted research funds to strengthen the position of the Glass Industry. By joining the GMIC, you will gain priority access to emerging, productivity-enhancing technologies as well as a voice in setting priorities for further glass research. The GMIC will influence the investment of these funds and will play a pivotal role in preparing the glass industry to meet the competitive challenges of the next century. In today's marketplace, where individual companies' research has often been dramatically reduced (if not eliminated), we are providing our members with the opportunity to acquire technical developments they can put to practical use ahead of their competition. See "Coming Events" Page for details on the development of this research portfolio"

Membership Opportunities:
  • The "G+" Program! Annually, members multiply their membership dollars back in laboratory credits through this exciting, GMIC/DOE program at the National Labs. Get access to expertise, equipment and lab time, up to $24,999 worth, through the Lab Coordinating Council and GMIC. It's the perfect opportunity for independent study on topics of specific interest to your companies.

  • Gain the ability to propose and participate in projects, which access millions of dollars in research funding under various agencies, most notably the U.S. Department of Energy.
