Press Release

Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) Announces new dedicated Glass-Industry Employment Center

Glass companies and individuals can now find the employees and jobs they need by visiting the GMIC web site at www.gmic.org

Westerville, Ohio, October 10, 2000: The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) is announcing a brand new internet tool for the entire glass industry: an employment center devoted exclusively to glass industry employment opportunities.  Glass companies (or others related to the industry) can post their job opportunities and individuals seeking a new position can post their resume (with necessary degree of confidentiality) to be reviewed by companies searching for their skills.

The service is offered by the GMIC in collaboration with the Easley Resource Group, Inc., an Oregon based recruiting firm specializing in the Glass Industry and Top Echelon of Ohio, a leading web-based recruiting service.

Individuals seeking employment in the glass industry can post their resumes (at no charge).  The “Automated Career Alert” feature delivers results to job seekers.  Additional options allow individuals to be informed when relevant job opportunities are posted on any web-based recruiting site.  The seeker can also obtain specific information about glass industry employers and their jobs.

Glass Industry employers can advertise their jobs and search for employees with experience in the glass industry.  Placing an advertisement involves a one-time $60.00 fee (with 10% discount for GMIC members).  Automatic “search agents” notify employers when a particular type of job seeker becomes available.  They are drawn not only from the GMIC site, but also from the 2,000+ Executive Recruiters who are affiliated with Top Echelon and from other employment web sites.

Try out the site by clicking “Employment” on the GMIC Site: www.gmic.org or call Executive Director, Michael Greenman at 614-818-9423 for details.
